The appointment of Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is a case of a square peg in a square hole. He is a leader whose distinguished qualities, profound knowledge, and proven skills align perfectly with the demanding mandate of this critical office.
Professor Amupitan is an astute professional and a man of unwavering integrity. His laudable virtues of neutrality and an apolitical disposition are precisely what our electoral system requires to bolster public confidence and ensure impartiality.
