Excitement has again enveloped the huge alumni community at litigation powerhouse, Rickey Tarfa & Co as one of its members was recently conferred with the coveted rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) during the 2025 Legal Year Opening Ceremony.
CITY LAWYER recalls that no less than three of the law firm’s alumni members took silk during the 2023 preferment exercise.
The latest addition to the firm’s burgeoning silk rank is Mr. Yemi Pitan SAN who was conferred with the much-sought-after rank during the 2024 exercise. This brings to nine the total number of senior lawyers who have been found worthy by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) to wear the exclusive rank.
Aside from the firm’s Founder and ferocious litigator, Mr. Rickey Tarfa SAN, other members of the firm who have taken silk over the years include deceased former Head of Chambers and erstwhile Ogun State Commissioner, Mr. Olusegun Odubela SAN; Mr. Olusegun Jolaawo SAN; Mr. Andrew Malgwi SAN, and Mr. Mustapha Ibrahim SAN.
Others are Mr. Kola Olowookere SAN; Mr. Aondo Terkaa SAN; Mr. Peter Tochukwu SAN, and the latest addition, Mr. Yemi Pitan.
Responding to the flurry of congratulatory messages from several members of the firm’s alumni, Pitan wrote:
“Thank you to the Partners of Rickey Tarfa & Co, Mr. Segun Jolaawo SAN, and Mr. Andrew Malgwi SAN for honoring me with your presence. I must say that whatever I achieve today was made possible with the solid foundation I got in RT& Co.
“We thank God for our founding principal, Mr. Rickey M. Tarfa SAN who gave us the opportunity to learn under his close watch. We pray that the good Lord will continue to be with the firm.”
