GADZAMA INSTALLED AS NEWGATE VARSITY CHANCELLOR, NBA MINNA HAIL HIM

NEWGATE UNIVERSITY, MINNA CROWNS NEW ERA WITH INVESTITURE OF CHIEF JOE-KYARI GADZAMA, SAN, AS CHANCELLOR

In a grand ceremony on Wednesday, 10th September, 2025, Newgate University, Minna officially inaugurated Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, as its esteemed Chancellor. This momentous occasion, held alongside the investiture of the Pro-chancellor, Mallam Nuhu Hassan (Mayanan Minna), the vibrant Founders' Day celebration and the unveiling of the Dr. Suleyman Ndanusa Innovation and Business Development Centre (SNIBUD) marked a significant milestone in the institution's history.

Notably in attendance were Hajia Zainab Kuchi (fmr Minister of Power and Niger Delta), representatives of the Nigerian Bar Association, Minna Branch and representatives of Federal University of Technology, Minna, Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna, Edusoko University, Bidda, amongst others.

During his heartfelt acceptance speech, the Learned Silk expressed profound gratitude to the Governing Council and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the university's noble ideals. "I accept this role as Chancellor with gratitude to the Governing Council, confidence in the leadership of our Vice-Chancellor, and faith in the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students," he stated.

He warmly congratulated Mallam Nuhu Hassan (Mayanan Minna) on his investiture as Pro-Chancellor, emphasizing the importance of collaborative leadership in propelling the university forward. "Together, we are called not only to preserve the ideals of our founders but to enlarge the vision - to make Newgate University a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and character for generations to come," he emphasized.

The newly minted Chancellor appreciated the synergy between the universities in Minna as evidenced by their attendance and goodwill messages and also charged the students to dream big, saying, "You may not achieve everything you dream of, but if your dreams are bold enough, you will achieve greatness. Your future is in your hands, and it begins here. Claim it, lay your foundation, and recreate the tomorrow you desire."

The event came to an end with the commissioning of the Dr. Suleyman Ndanusa Innovation and Business Development Centre (SNIBUD) by the newly minted Chancellor. The Centre promises to be an innovation hub dedicated to incubating tech ideas and tech solutions with the aim of creating the Nigerian version of the silicon valley, thereby graduating job creators rather than job seekers.

As Newgate University embarks on this new chapter, the academic community eagerly anticipates the Chancellor's visionary leadership and guidance in shaping the institution's future trajectory. The investiture ceremony served as a testament to the university's unwavering dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and character development. With this milestone, Newgate University cements its position as a beacon of knowledge and innovation.

NBA MINNA CELEBRATES LEGAL LUMINARY, CHIEF JOE-KYARI GADZAMA, SAN, ON HIS INVESTITURE AS CHANCELLOR OF NEWGATE UNIVERSITY, MINNA 

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Minna Branch, turned out in grand style to celebrate one of Nigeria’s foremost legal icons, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, on the occasion of his investiture as the Chancellor of Newgate University, Minna, held on Wednesday, 10th September, 2025.

Led by their Chairman, Isiaku Barau, Esq., members of the branch graced the historic event in their numbers, demonstrating the Bar’s solidarity and pride in the remarkable achievements of one of their own.

In addition to their presence, the NBA Minna Branch further honoured Chief Gadzama with the presentation of a special gift, symbolizing their goodwill and deep appreciation for his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and to nation-building.

The colourful ceremony not only celebrated the elevation of Chief Gadzama to this new academic role but also reaffirmed the enduring bond of professional fellowship and mutual respect within the legal community in Nigeria.
