Seven Chairmen of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) branches in Rivers State have commended NBA President, Mr. Afam Osigwe SAN on the grant of the 2026 Annual General Conference (AGC) hosting right to Rivers State.
In a statement made available to CITY LAWYER and signed by Tamunosiki A. Roberts, the branch chairmen wrote: "We equally thank the President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN for once again considering Rivers State worthy to host the 2026 NBA-AGC. We consider our State to be fortunate and privileged to be given the opportunity once again.
"We assure the President that the Bar in Rivers State will work assiduously with the AGCPC to ensure the success of the Conference. We believe that the 2026 NBA-AGC in Rivers State will record better successes than we have experienced in times past."
The chairmen also commended the NBA President as well as the 2025 AGC Planning Committee "on the successes recorded in the just concluded 2025 NBA-AGC in Enugu State.
"The successes recorded at the Conference clearly demonstrate that Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN is not just a Leader, but a round peg in a round hole. His pragmatic and impeccable style of leadership confirms that the confidence which members of NBA across Nigeria reposed in him is well deserved."
The Branch Chairmen also commended the leadership of the AGC Planning Committee, saying: "We equally congratulate the Conference Planning Committee (AGCPC) ably led by Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, and assisted by his learned brother Silk, our own dear Sammie Somiari, SAN for their commitment and industry in the planning and execution of the various well packaged activities of the conference."
